From 13 to 15 May 2015 Roztocze National Park had organized workshops entitled "Cognition of chosen protected areas in Ukraine on example of Yavorivskiy National Nature Park and Nature reserve "Roztochya".
The trip to Ukraine was one of the design elements of the project under the title “Cognition and popularization of biodiversity of Roztocze – borderland region of natural and cultural heritage" co-financed from the from the Financial Mechanism of European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 implemented by the program area 2 for: "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services".
The workshops were attended by 41 persons representing the national parks as well as institutions cooperating and supporting the Park in the activity of nature conservation, education and tourism.
The main purpose of the workshops was to popularize the biodiversity of the Roztocze region, both on the Polish and Ukrainian side of the border, cognition of the of the protected areas system and the culture of borderland regions.
During the three days of workshops topics considering the Roztocze - the natural border region of nature and culture, were presented. The main topics were: flora, fauna, history of landscapes and land use, tourism in the valuable natural areas and two projects entitled: The Stone Forest Geopark in Roztocze and Transboundary Biosphere Reserve "Roztocze".
The issues were presented in the forms of lectures, multimedia presentations, fieldwork combined with visits to selected objects.
The workshop participants had the opportunity to familiarize with the educational and touristic offer of Yavorivskiy National Nature Park and Nature reserve "Roztochya" as well as regional products.
